Are you stuck in a pattern that limits your ability to lose weight and keep it off; stopping you from improving your health; causing increased stress, anger and frustration; or sadness, loneliness and despair in your life or relationships? If so, EFT may be able to help you. EFT is also known as ‘Emotional Freedom Technique’, and you can learn more from the website: www.emofree.com

EFT is an energy therapy based on ancient science, a group of techniques used to release the 'stuck' emotions that prevent us from moving forward, experiencing happiness, and achieving our goals in life. In this field, it is believed that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system.

EFT can be described as an emotional form of acupuncture without needles, which releases stuck emotions by re-balancing the body's energy system. It works to address and clear any unconscious blockages in the meridian system, which is the interface between the energy field and the physical body. When there are blockages in the energy field, there are corresponding disruptions in the flow through the meridian system. These blockages are reflected to unconscious thoughts and emotions, and in the functioning of the physical body. Imbalances usually occur as the result of difficult or traumatic situation. Whenever we are unable to express and release our emotions as they occur, they tend to stay with us and inhabit our unconscious.

While most of us would never intentionally produce thoughts that would make us depressed, unhappy, or ill, often we defeat our chances of realizing our dreams and goals by negative self-talk – that little bit of learned self-doubt that sabotages our chances of keeping off weight, following through on that great idea, or getting rid of nagging back pain. To understand how your subconscious may be hurting you, just look at any part of your life that is not working. It could be your career, relationships, finances, procrastination, or any area where you know something is wrong, but you don’t know what’s causing it or how to combat it. These forms of self-sabotage are what we call psychological reversal (PR). EFT can help to identify and release the problem.

Most people experience a moderate amount of PR in their lives, and it shows up in a few specific areas. Because of this, some parts of your life work well, and others do not – it is a matter of where the energy is flowing smoothly and where it is not. Where we have limiting beliefs about ourselves, the energy is not flowing smoothly. Some people have little PR, and life’s challenges are easy for them to overcome; others have a lot of PR and always have difficulty in overcoming their obstacles. The good news is that PR is a polarity problem, not a character defect.

In EFT, each meridian point, or energy channel of the body, is associated with a particular organ and a specific emotion. The end of one meridian system is the beginning of another, as a result, energy flows continuously throughout the system. EFT results are achieved when a practitioner 'fingertip taps' on either the beginning or end of a particular meridian system, sending energy throughout the entirefind an EFT practitionermeridian. The patient focuses on the area of concern - which disruptsthe energy system - while the meridian point is tapped until the issue is cleared. Most emotional patterns clear within one to six rounds of tapping, with a reminder phase used at each tapping point to advise the unconscious that specific blockages are finally being addressed. When the procedure is successful, the now balanced patient will not be affected by the past negative memory.

This gentle technique is highly effective tool for establishing and maintaining well-being. It is a self-healing method that brings energy and emotions into balance, and requires only that you commit yourself to complete physical and mental well-being.
