Running is one of the simplest and greatest forms of exercise. It is a rigorous cardiovascular exercise, which allows a person to burn an average of 100 calories per each mile. Furthermore, running is an easily accessible activity-- with comfortable pair of running shoes and some determination, anyone can run.
Run anyway you want to, preferably in a park or a running track, by yourself or with a group; it gives you wonderful benefits:
If you are beginner, you need to start a running program. Whatever is your level of fitness, you should comfortably be able to build from nothing to running continuously for 30 minutes in the space of four to five weeks. All you need to do is make a commitment to run at least three times a week and follow this simple program which will gradually ease you towards the goal.
Start with a brisk 10-minute walk and then alternate 30 seconds of running with one minute of walking about 3 days a week. Each week, increase the amount of time you run and decrease the amount of time you walk. Your pace should be comfortable and you get breathless, slow down. If you're following your program consistently (i.e., at least three days a week), you should be running continuously for 20 to 30 minutes by the fourth week. When you start out, you should be focused on time not intensity. Once you can run continuously for 30 minutes or so, you can start going faster.
Running requires the least equipment and planning of all exercises. Just put on your favorite music and running shoes, a couple of running buddies if possible, and just go for it! Run recreationally and competitively, farthest and fastest! Run till you achieve your fitness goals.
And of course, DON’T FORGET TO RUN TO YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC!
