Hello and welcome to this newly evolving and often horny debate; the effects of electro-stress into our homes and workspaces, which seems inevitable and all pervasive.
What if it does affect out health? It took the tobacco industry 70 years to label their products as fatal, asbestos sufferers are still in court having had their lives innocently blighted and thalidomide was another unconscious societal blunder equally devastating for many.
Further research was recommended under UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher into the effects of electro-stress on our lives, but conflicting interests prevented this. It is another inconvenient truth.
The more extreme frequencies are well-documented such as x-rays and ultra-violet rays. Others include the effects of domestic and office appliances, lighting, overhead and underground high voltage cables, mobile phones and their controversial masts, satellite and communication dishes broadcasting at microwave frequencies, and the most recent wire-less technology.
Please help us all by not getting a BT HomeHub – apparently the radiation affects of these are tenfold of a normal WIFI system.
More and more people are reporting “electrical sensitivities” to these sources. In Sweden this is now a recognized disability for the 3% of sufferers, with the government there taking full responsibility for individuals’ protection. (BBC Panorama: April 2007)
My own interest? I have a kinesiology practice in Gloucestershire, UK and over the last twelve years have been looking into the effects of many factors affecting our health.
Clients come to me with symptoms ranging from allergies to migraine, chronic illness and stress. It is the symptoms we give all our attention, but are these the root cause? How many of you experience migraines on a daily basis and sleep with a DECT cordless phone by your bed? These are the equivalent of having a mobile phone mast in your room.
How many UK households have been given free energy saving bulbs? The new energy saving light bulbs are fluorescent light bulbs! Did you like those before? These are known to give people with weakened immune systems irregular heartbeats, as well as being capable of triggering epilepsy, migraine, eczema, asthma and affect the immune system. The effects may be due to pulsed electromagnetic radiation – and do you like the buzz they make?
These pulse at 100x a second. It is this pulsing that also occurs when we use our mobile phones – another beat for our cells and membranes to interpret. In addition, they contain mercury and very small quantities vapourise into the air when in use.
They may reduce the carbon footprint but the downside is that you are putting into the environment the second most toxic substance on the planet - namely mercury albeit in minute quantities.
In responding to clients’ symptoms I am increasingly drawn to components in their environment which can overshadow what could otherwise be a vibrant life. Electro-stress is not the only culprit, chemicals in our food cause allergies and a weakened immune system is prey to illness. If you remove the source, recurring colds and fevers can be eradicated and can give you a huge freedom from the restraints of before.
