In the 1960's an English Naturopath and Reflexologist called Robert St.John discovered a map of our time in the womb on the spinal reflex points along the bony ridge of the inside of the foot. Through trial and error he realised that during the gestation period we develop core ways of being that will shape us during our lifetime.
For the first four and a half months in the womb, whilst the foetus is inwardly turned in what is commonly referred to as the 'foetal position',we establish our individuality and sense of self. Are we loners, outsiders, or leaders and people who guide others? Do we care for the needs of others before our own? Many patterns of behaviour pertaining to our way of expressing our individuality take root during this phase. In life we will relive this phase of development in childhood.
At four and a half months, as the foetus starts to physically open out, a period called 'opening to the world' establishes itself. In life we relive this as adolescence. Someone with a block that occurred during this period might feel obstructed in giving their offering to the world, as in the example of the painter Van Gogh whose work went unreceived during his lifetime, or anyone with a dream that just won't realise itself, be it a job or a creative project of some kind.
The next four and a half months establish how it will interact socially with family, friends, lovers, in the workplace and the community at large. In life, we relive this in our maturity. Some of us find ourselves surrounded by loving relationships, whilst others are trapped in empty lives struggling to connect. All of these life experiences can be traced to our time in the womb.
The Metamorphic view is that these patterns were chosen by the incoming soul as life lessons and each pattern is a portal, an opportunity which when healed, reveals our deeper essence. So the child bullied at school, who on some level attracts this experience, can transform the pattern of being victimised into one where his humour or diplomatic skills perhaps might come to the fore, thus giving birth to very resourceful life skills that will be be particularly significant in this person's realisation. In fact, Metamorphic is especially relevant for children, whose patterns shift very quickly as they are not as fixed as those in adults.
Metamorphic Technique uses a gentle touch to loosen the seeds or roots of these issues. Acting as a catalyst to your own life force, dramatic shifts have been noticed, from emotional issues dropping away, new ways of relating to life, new decisions, finding your purpose, being received, meeting partners, finding jobs and the healing of physical ailments.
When someone receives a session it indicates a willingness to stop putting obstacles in the way of life's natural movement of transformation. It is a technique that is easily learnt, simple to practise, and relaxing to receive. Generally taught in weekend workshops or 6 day retreats, you can then connect to a network of people worldwide and exchange sessions for free.
Transformation simply means becoming more of who you are, living your potential rather than experiencing life through your blocks.
