Pregnancy, Ankle Problems & Bowen

Hannah Shine shows just how versatile Bowen therapy can be!

Angie came to see me. She had one child using IVF treatment and she was delighted. She continued to come to me for regular monthly reflexology treatments after the baby was born. She then told me that they wanted another baby and had hoped that she would be pregnant without recourse to IVF. Although I knew that reflexology would help her, she had complained recently of a bad back. On this particular evening, I decided to give her a Bowen treatment.

When she got off the couch, she said that her backache was gone and she felt "free-er" in herself....... Six weeks later (before her next scheduled reflexology treatment) she phoned excitedly to tell me that she was pregnant and said it was due to "Mr. Bowen!"

Meanwhile, her husband who played a lot of squash was complaining of a painful ankle. He was reluctant to go the alternative route despite her advice. She came to see me and advised that the consultants did not know what was wrong but since their MRI scans showed nothing tangible, they suggested "exploratory surgery". She and I were horrified at this course of action and she went home and begged him to come to me for at least one treatment.....

I am glad to say he did. I gave him a Bowen treatment (which starts on the back, neck and shoulders) and then I did the ankle manoeuvre. He thanked me and I suggested that he allowed the ankle a couple of weeks without playing squash. Angie, on her next visit, told me that the pain in his ankle had gone from the day he came to see me and Vic was delighted....

They were so pleased they invited my husband and me to dinner at a lovely restaurant locally. The tables are very close together.... Can you imagine what the other diners thought when Angie announced that her pregnancy was attributable to "Mr Bowen" and Vic recounted his experience of a Bowen by saying....... "I went to this woman for my ankle and she worked on my back, neck, shoulders, knees and I wondered when she was going to get to the problem I came for". Fortunately, he did finish the story and say that his ankle problem was resolved (to the chuckles and giggles of nearby diners!")
