The terms ‘energy medicine’ and ‘vibrational medicine’ are used by many complementary and alternative medicine practitioners to describe what they do. The way in which these therapists work may vary substantially, but they all share some fundamental common beliefs about the role of subtle energy and the person’s innate impulse to heal. The tools they use may differ – one therapist might use crystals and oils, while another may use rituals and homeopathic remedies. The therapist might use kinesiology, dowsing or their intuition to understand what is happening. Some therapists work with a spirit guide.
I asked therapist Sylvie Lenoir to tell me how she practises energy medicine:
“From my experience in treating people everyday, I am absolutely convinced that the natural state of the mind-body complex is good health, happiness and well-being unless something is preventing its normal function and state.
“Vibrational medicine offers a way forward for individuals, who want to take responsibility of their own health and life.
“It is a holistic tailored therapy based on the principle that everything vibrates in the universe and that everything has its unique vibrational frequency or signature, including you and me. When you experience symptoms or disease it is because your vibrational frequency has been altered, either by external or internal factors, or both.
“Vibrational medicine deals with the cause(s) of the imbalance and by doing so balance can be restored.
“Symptoms or disease (which is in reality a big symptom) are not the cause of the problem, they are just effects. If your car engine has a knocking sound, that is a symptom not a cause.
“Energy medicine can be explained by the laws of physics, quantum physics and homeopathy: ‘like cures like’.”
“Absolutely everyone regardless of age or sex can benefit from this therapy. Vibrational medicine works very well for patients who have energetic, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual issues or blockages. It may be helpful in a huge range of conditions from mild to acute or severe to chronic.”
“A session lasts normally between 30 minutes to 1 hour except for the first appointment, which may last an hour and half. It can be held face-to-face or remote. Treatments are painless and non-invasive.
“In a face-to-face treatment, your body is assessed by dowsing and muscle testing to locate imbalance(s) and find the treatment to restore balance. Once the imbalance and its cause(s) are defined, I look for the remedies that will lift the cause totally or partially in order to restore or bring more balance into your body. Then vibrational pills of those remedies will be made and tapped on precise points on your body. Your body will use the information on the tablets to heal and repair itself.
“In my opinion, the pendulum used in dowsing is just a visual tool to one’s muscular and nervous response to a stimulus. For example, if I touch your body, it triggers changes in your body, which my body is able to record (transfer of electro-magnetic charges). As a result, my body alters its own equilibrium in response to your body signals. Our bodies become a closed electrical circuit. As everything in the Universe is made of atoms (each atom carries 3 electrical charges: one positive, one negative, and one neutral), the electrical charge is transferred from my body’s atoms to the atoms of the pendulum.
“In a remote treatment, I hold your hair sample or your name in one hand and the pendulum in my other hand and go through my protocol as if you were physically present in my practice. Simply by having one of your hairs, I can receive and transmit the information required. Even a single cut hair still carries your unique vibrational signature. There is no separation in time or space between you and your hair. Once all the data have been collected, I use a specific machine (the transmitter) to send the corrective vibrations to your hair (the receiver). Because your ‘separated cells’ have the ability to communicate remotely with all of your body cells, your body will be able to receive the information and correct itself. You can be anywhere in the world, distance is no barrier.
“Deficiencies and the need for supplements are assessed. Diet, drinks and life-style are looked at, and recommendations made."
“At the end of each session, the next treatment appointment will be determined. This can vary – it depends on the individual.”
“Although the body repairs faster than it takes to get ill, recovering health and balance may take time.
“The number of session may vary greatly from:
“It also depends on how healthy the person wants to become. Some people know they should stop smoking but don’t want to. It’s their choice, as is stopping a treatment before it is completed or seeing it through to a successful conclusion.
“It’s taking responsibility for your own health, well being and life. Those that complete a therapy find results are lasting and remarkably effective.”
“It is usually achieved by word of mouth, but if you can’t find someone that way, have a look at the Health & Goodness international therapist listing.”
