Wayne Topping, a New Zealander now living in the USA has developed wellness kinesiology. He's a former geology professor, now teaching kinesiology in 22 different countries. When he's not teaching or seeing clients, he's up a mountain somewhere. Fortunately I didn't have to climb a mountain to ask him to tell me about wellness kinesiology:
"Wellness kinesiology has a very positive perspective, focussing on prevention. The client comes in, and the practitioner listens to their story, their symptomology and what's not working for them. We do a lot of work in the emotional area but nutritional work is important too. We also do some structural work. We're particularly interested in helping people with stress.
"The session starts with clearing tests and basic muscle
"After doing physical corrections it is time to do some therapeutic work with the emotions. Now we can tap three specific acupuncture points to put the body under more stress to see if we need to do more work. We're looking for a robust correction, so we keep putting the body under stress and correcting it until we can no longer throw the body out of balance. If we found nutrition earlier, we will see if the body still wants the same nutrition in the same amount now that other work has been done.
"Then sometimes we'll add in some brain gym type corrections. We may also work with stuck emotional states, such as depression, anger, phobias and anxieties. We use the techniques developed by Roger Callaghan or an expansion of them.
"Because we are addressing the imbalances that the client is presenting with, we get to deal with the current problems in their life and they usually leave with fewer aches, pains, and other symptoms."
