| Additional Information | Lawrence Smith has been teaching the Alexander Technique for more than 20 years, having begun taking lessons when he was studying dance 30 years ago. Leaving a career in performing arts, which included touring internationally, as well as writing and directing for the theater, he dedicated himself full-time to the A.T. in 1985. He teaches dancers at the University of Quebec at Montreal, and has taught musicians at McGill University and actors at Concordia University. Through his work with members of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, he has been invited to teach for the International Competition for Strings and Harp. In 2008, he was a presenter at the International Congress on the Alexander Technique, and recently presented for the Conference on the Health of Performing Artists as part of the Festival TransAmerique in Montreal. |
